Casey Key Fishing Guide

Fishing at Gulf Shores on the Venice Inlet

Gulf Shore Beach Resort provides you with a unique fishing opportunity – Casting from the Intracoastal Waterway docks and shore fishing off private Nokomis Beach. Learn about Florida fishing licenses and apply for one online. Also read up on saltwater fish and their restricted seasons from the FWC website.

Once you have your license, purchase live bait and any tackle you may need at Nokomis Beach Bait & Tackle. Often a fishing charter captain is working and will offer free advice about what to use and where to fish.

Boating and kayaking are another angler favorite. Kayaks can launch directly into the Waterway from our boat slips area. Rent kayaks or paddleboards from Jetty Rentals and they will deliver them to the Resort. Boats can also dock in our slips, and there is a boat ramp on the South corner of Casey Key Rd. and Albee Rd. with trailer parking.

Venice Reef Charters two guys fishing caught a 100lb amberjack

Fishing Charters are a no-stress way to experience the waters in the bays and out deep in the Gulf. The best part is you don’t need to purchase a fishing license or tackle. Venice Reef Charters offers great rates & packages -- Plus Captain Phil is going out on trips daily.

You can also try the Fishing Pier if you go to the Island of Venice. The Pier is at Sharky’s Restaurant, where anglers catch a lot of sharks and seasonal fish. Speak to the fishermen there to learn what’s biting. For a closer location, fish just a mile South on Casey Key Rd. at the North Jetty.

You really can’t run out of options. So, pack a couple poles when you head out to our little piece of paradise.
